Why should I choose Becker Cabinetry and Millworks?
We offer attention to detail, individual needs, and quality craftsmanship only a small shop can offer. Everything is custom work. We invite you to make an appointment to see our cabinets. We only use the best carefully selected wood, hardware, and finishes. We combine traditional woodworking techniques and modern machinery to produce a quality product.
Can I afford custom cabinets?
Because we are a small shop, you purchase the product right from us, the manufacturer. There are no additional costs as using a distributor would require. You pay for the cost of the materials and the labor it requires to create your cabinets, that's all! And, you get just what you want, designed by you, aided by us, for your particular space and needs.
How long will it take to get my kitchen cabinets?
Custom cabinets typically take 4-6 weeks. As soon as you know you want cabinets, contact us and we can tentatively fit you into our schedule, so that your cabinets can get done as soon as possible.
Do you prep the room for cabinets?
Typically, the customer secures contractors who will do the remodeling portion of the project. Although, if our customers prefer, we can help them in every aspect of their project. We have a network of excellent contractors to refer them to. We can also do some additional prep work within the whole room renovation/new build project.
Do you build cabinets for closets?
Yes. We invite you to see some of our finished projects to gain ideas on how you would like your closet or storage space designed.
How many styles of doors do you offer?
We can create custom cabinet door designs to your specifications, we can match your cabinet door profiles, or we can make you a door design of any of the popular door styles currently available.
How many types of cabinet pulls or knobs do you offer?
We furnish you with a hardware distributor catalog during the project for you to pick out your choice(s). This catalog has a complete list of pulls and knobs.
Am I limited by species of wood?
No, while we prefer to use local sources for our lumber, we have resources to obtain any species of wood you prefer.
If I have a special color or finish, can you match it?
Yes, we can match or create any color you desire.
Does your company do detailed drawings like the major cabinet manufacturers?
Yes, we do CAD drawings on the computer, so you can visualize your space. It's easy to tweak and modify the project from this working outline. We encourage you to gather any magazine pictures or other photos of cabinets, rooms and designs you like. This helps communicate your ideas, so you get just what you want in your project. We want to make sure YOUR input is paramount to the design process. Remember, one of the BEST reasons in working with a custom cabinet making shop is that we can take on unique and challenging projects.
Is installation included in the price quote or is it additional?
The installation is in addition to the price quote of the cabinets. This way, the customer may choose to have the remodeling contractor install the cabinets, or do it themselves. We do offer tear-out as well as complete installation on all our jobs. The installation charge is very competitive.
How many years have you been in the cabinet business?
I have been making cabinets since 1984. In 1999, I started my own custom cabinet shop on the property where we are today. We employ two full-time employees and one part-time employee. We have a combined experience of over 80 years of cabinetmaking.
How do I clean my cabinets?
For stained and varnished cabinets:
Mix 1 gallon of warm water with 1/4 cup of oil soap (such as Murphy's Oil Soap), OR a mild soap (such as Dawn Dishwashing Liquid). Simply wipe the cabinets with a soft cloth and the solution then use a dry cloth to wipe off any moisture that is left on the cabinets.
For opaque painted and matte finishes:
Never use waxes on this finish! Simply wipe clean using a soft cloth with a mild soapy water solution as stated above. Rinse immediately after with a clean damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. CAUTION: Avoid vigorous rubbing, as this tends to raise glossy spots, marring the original effect.
409 Glass and Surface Cleaner says it can be used on both painted or varnished wood cabinets if you want a commercial cleaner option.
Do you provide warranty on your product?
Your satisfaction is important to us. The quality of your Becker Custom Cabinetry is guaranteed under normal home use and service. Becker Custom Cabinetry warrants it's cabinetry to be free of defects in material and workmanship for 1 year following delivery of our product. This warranty applies to only the original owner of these products at the original site of installation. This warranty does not include normal wear and tear of the wood or it's finish.
